Lambs fed by their ewes                                                 Orphan lambs

Everybody knows that female mammals produce milk to feed their young ones.
After their births, lambs, calves and kids are often removed from their mothers to allow human beings to collect their milk.
But have you ever thought about the consequences of such a separation?
Just have a look at the following photos and compare the lambs.
Would consumers be willing to pay more for dairy produce to allow lambs, calves and kids to be fed with their mothers’milk?
We wish to thank R. Nowak and the team of shepherds for all the interesting explanations they gave us.
